UK Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs endorses Dr David Nabarro as next Director-General of the World Health Organization
A proven administrator, a proven campaigner and I believe a superb fit for this job.
I want to explain why I'm backing David Nabarro to be Director-General of the World Health Organisation. The reason is very simple - The World Health Organization is our global front line of defence against diseases such as Ebola or Avian Flu that can cause cataclysmic economic and medical damage. Dr David Nabarro is a medical practitioner who has direct experience of leading the fight against Ebola in West Africa with huge success. But he's also a manager who has enormous experience of the World Health Organization and how it works. He's a proven administrator, a proven campaigner and I believe a superb fit for this job.
